Create a Safe Emotional Release for Yourself

You know that feeling when you’re going through the motions of life, but something just feels off? Maybe you’re stressed, tense, or overwhelmed. Or perhaps you can’t quite put a finger on it, but there's a lingering sense of discontent or disconnection that you can’t shake. If you're nodding along, you're not alone.

In our culture, we've been conditioned to suppress, deny, bottle up and judge our very real and natural emotions. This tendency to bottle up emotions can exact a heavy toll on our well-being.

But, when we learn to connect with and give voice to our emotions, they can release naturally and move through us as they were meant to.


Suppressed Emotions Cost Us So Much

One thing that most people don’t realize is that SO MUCH of our stress, tension, overwhelm and confusion comes from bottling up our emotions instead of processing them in a way that allows them to be released.

Suppressing and ignoring our emotions also disconnects us from our inner wisdom and authenticity, clutters our thoughts and makes us more prone to mood swings, irritability, and physical ailments.

On the other hand, learning to process and release your emotions can relieve a bunch of your stress, decrease your internal tension, boost your mental and emotional wellbeing, and increase your compassionate self awareness.

Feeling and processing your emotions in a effective way is truly a vital part of self care and self regulation, plus it can pave the way for greater emotional resilience and authenticity in your life.


What is Somatic Meditation for Emotional Release?

Somatic meditation invites us to feel our emotions in a body-centered way, allowing them to be acknowledged and released naturally. By tapping into our body's wisdom, we can alleviate stress, reduce tension, and enhance our mental and emotional well-being.

In today's guided meditation, we'll combine two powerful emotional processing techniques: Havening Techniques® and Regenerating Images in Memory®.

Havening Techniques® is a somatic practice that actually affects the primal parts of your limbic system and soothes your amygdala so that you can feel more peace in your body, even in the presence of big emotions. (Learn more about Havening and the science behind it here.)

Regenerating Images in Memory® is a body centered therapeutic tool that helps us drop below our conscious mind and go more deeply into our emotions (and our subconscious) that live in our body.
