So many of us carry deep wounding around our self-worth. A huge percentage of the people I’ve done emotional healing work with have confessed to me that they secretly feel unworthy, unloveable and/or somehow too flawed to belong in this world.

And I fully understand, because I’ve had debilitatingly low self-worth for most of my life, and it’s such a painful way to live!

The capital T Truth to all of this is that each and every one of us is immeasurably valuable, infinitely worthy and brilliant in our own uniqueness. So, why are we so disconnected from that Truth and what can we do to cultivate self-worth in a real and tangible way?

In this video, we’re going to use Havening to cultivate self-worth. I’m going to guide you through a self-Havening exercise to remind you of your own immeasurable value and help you reconnect with the part of you that’s never forgotten your true worth.

The problem of low self-worth

When we live with low self worth, it wreaks havoc on our sense of self.

And, not only are these feelings of unworthiness incredibly painful, but our self-worth or lack thereof, permeates every part of our lives.

Our lack of self-worth sits mostly in our subconscious psyche, but we can see how much we value ourselves by looking at our relationships, our finances, our personal boundaries, the people we surround ourselves with, the thoughts that keep us up in the middle of the night, and the tone of the voice in our head when we make a mistake, just to name a few.

And when this subconscious unworthiness is running the show, we do crazy things to try to make ourselves feel worthy! We work ourselves til we burnout, we over give and over achieve. We give away pieces of our authentic self as we contort ourselves trying to fit in to an unachievable ideal image of some super human who has no needs, weaknesses or, imperfections.

Or, we give up trying, collapse, and knock ourselves down a peg before anyone else gets the chance while defensively proclaiming that we never cared anyway.

But, neither of those options gets us any closer to true self worth. True self worth can’t be achieved through accomplishments, earned through hard work or bestowed upon us by validation from others. True self worth comes from within.

  • I wonder what it would be like to experience more self-worth.

  • I wonder what it would feel like to be connected to the part of me that knows my inherent value.

  • I wonder who I would become if I could have more and more consistent connection to my own immeasurable worth.

  • What if my worth isn’t tied to my performance or my actions?

  • What if I am infinitely valuable ... whether others see it or not?

  • What if I’m completely worthy and valuable no matter what?

  • What if I have limitless value?

  • What if I’m an integral part of this world?

  • What if just being me is enough?

  • What if my super power is just being me?

  • What if I am worthy inside and out?

  • What if it’s safe for me to connect with my inherent value?

  • What if it’s safe for me to shine?

  • More and more, I choose to connect with the part of me that knows my inherent worth.
